I loved this story of your brave, brave rooster! It actually brought tears to my eyes to think someone else in this worlD LOVES! chickens as much as I do. I just bought 4 guinea hens [sex unknown right now] for that very reason. I read that they will protect a flock and are quite vocal to it...
Well I do have lots of mine named but then there are some you really can't tell apart so they remain called "here chick chick"....LOL...I currently have 50 at various ages.
I ordered 8 various wyandotte peeps. Their hatch date was 5/2/2011. I am happy to say at nearly 2 wks they are doing GREAT! Not overly sure just yet if I have the 2 roos I ordered in red laced blues, but the quality is exceptional, and I was very impressed at how healthy and alert they were...

how do I treat it?

actually I feed all the feral cats I can! they may not be able to bring down an adult weazel BUT they will kill babies and deter other predators...and if they are well fed they won't and never do bother my "girls"...my best cat however...unfortunately disappeared ...she was a house pet that...

I had a "thought" on feral cats...seems to work for me, but I don't know about elsewhere. I have 2 cats of my own, one spayed one neutered. I have 2 'feral' cats that also hang around. My own won't come in during good weather so I leave a large bowl of dry food on my back porch under cover for...
