How can I stop a hen from roosting in a nest instead of a pole. Out of ten chickens I have to young buffs that roost in the nest. And they switch nest from time to time and I just as soon put them in boiling water if I can not break the habit.
I have notice that some of my hens are staying a long time on the nest. And their usually eggs from other hens in there. Is it like going to the bathroom and having to wait. I usually scat them out to retrieve the eggs when I know they have been there for awhile. Whats up with that?

I was given a chicken because I was the only one willing to give it a home. But she can't stand up and walk I have checked her over but see no wounds. One wing looks injured and she does crawl around and feeds. Will she heal by herself a vet visit is not a option what should be done.
