We added 3 pullets to our flock of 3 at the beginning of June. Our older hens were laying just fine. The pullets joined the flock very easily, with only about a week of annoyed screaming from the older ladies. We switched to flock raiser for food. Soon the older ladies stopped laying at the...
She is overall very skittish. With people she will run if you step her way. It takes a lot of coaxing with snacks to get her to kind of come close, whereas the others will eat from your hand. We have 3 grown hens and she is skittish with them too. She gets out of their way.

My biggest concern (and tip off) is this one is giant. She's very tall and has those massive feet. I've never had an Orpington before so I just wasn't sure if they were naturally big birds to begin with.
No that I have seen. :( I put out multiple water sources for her, and even brought some to her each chance I get and she refuses. It has been raining for two days so the metal fence is wet, and she keeps trying to sip water droplets off of it. It's very odd.
Oh wow! I didn't know that. I've read a lot that they were okay. Definitely stopping the daily worm snacks today. Do you have any suggestions for snacks?
Not all of them. A small amount of meal worms daily to call them in. I try to limit the others, so maybe a small amount of veggies 1-3 days a week, fruits mainly on extra hot days. I have been trying different things lately to see if what she will eat though.
Thank you so much! I'll be able to check her crop shortly. I'll snap a picture of her dropping too. They have been small, mostly liquid, with a little bit of green lumps if I recall correctly.
Hello, sorry for the long post!
Some background: I have a Red Sex Link (Sybil), of which we are unsure of her age. We have had her for a year and she was already grown when we got the house. We have only ever seen 4-6 eggs from Sybil, and the occasional soft egg. The most recent being about a...
We have 3 Brown Leghorns that are in need of a home. They are fantastic layers. We are unsure of the age, but we believe they are young but full grown. They are just unfortunately too loud for our location and we have to get rid of them. Two are missing feathers off their backs because of a...
