I'm so old I Remember when:

It was basically a scam, but it involved ordering music via snail mail.

I'm so old I Remember when:

Is that anything like the "freebie" you got for ordering from Columbia House?

I'm so old I Remember when:

This doesn't exactly fit the thread, but I remember a sense of shock when I first heard U2 played on *classic rock* radio. I was all "Wha-?" It just didn't seem possible. LOL Now I have the same feeling when I see young adults and learn that they were born in 2001. Or somebody says "Back in...

I'm so old I Remember when:

I went to part of the first grade in a 2 classroom school in 70-71. I got transferred to the "big" school during that year.

    Cats in a hoop house?

Thank you so much with the link to the hoop coops. I see that some have corrugated metal sheets. That would be awesome and perfect, especially if I can find someone tearing down an old building with it. Good to know about the 3" snow load. That's a pretty average amount where I live (when it...

    Cats in a hoop house?

I'd definitely put shelves in, thanks for the idea of how to do that! I'm going to need cross braces set on posts - I see that now - but that's ok, it will give them scratching posts while they are in there. I'm off to do research on some kind of sheeting that is puncture resistant!

    Cats in a hoop house?

I've been looking at people's cattle panel hoop houses for chickens and believe that even I could build such. Thing is, I don't need it for chickens, I need it for a cat colony. I hope folks who've built them see this thread and can offer advice. My questions: How "wobbly" are the cattle...

    Anyone in WV???

I don't know if you'll get a reply from Tracy, doesn't her post say 2008? Anyway, I'm also in WV about an hour out of Huntington. I don't have any chickens yet, waiting to retire. (less than 2 years to go - woo hoo!) But I still like to talk about them. What breed are your hens?

    What’s your fav chicken breed??

I started out with Dominiques as my favorite, but I have fallen in love with Dorkings. I still plan to have some "dominikers" or even just "dom'ners" as my mom called them, but now I have to have some of those short, five-toed, tasty wonders! A Dorking rooster is the prettiest chicken ever!

    What’s your fav chicken breed??

I don't want any solid white either. I don't like solid black. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks like this.

Can you make spicy eggs, by feeding your hens chili?

I know if cows eat wild onions it will taint their milk, but I've never heard of any food affecting chicken eggs. I've eaten eggs from chickens that roamed widely, never tasted anything.

Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

MI winters are gripe worthy! I feel very, very fortunate in being able to tolerate meds, I hate hearing you can't take them. I will try to find the link to the therapeutic light bulb I ordered and pass it to you when I find it.

I got a therapeutic light and have been burning it year round. That and meds keeps my SAD in check pretty well.
