Where Can I find Blue Magpie ducklings?

I ended up ordering hatching eggs from Blue Feather Farms in Magnolia Texas. Out of that batch I fortunately hatched one blue male and two females, one blue and one black! Where are you located? I’ll be hatching in the spring but may hatch in the fall if I have enough interest. You can pm me if...

    11 Week old Splash Ameraucana

🎉 This is fantastic news! I was hoping I had a cockerel. I have 4 beautiful splash Marans pullets and they will make some gorgeous splash olive egger babies! Thank you!! Will this copper leakage go away as he ages or will it remain the same?

    11 Week old Splash Ameraucana

I hatched this guy/gal from hatching eggs that I purchased from an Ameraucana breeder who bred BBS Ameraucana. I saw the parent birds. Breed purity isn’t in question. But this is the only one that hatched out of 31 eggs. No joke. Anyway, is this copper leakage normal at this age, or any age...

Can someone tell me what is causing this sore on my Bourbon Red tom’s wattle?

Adding that I’ve just looked into it and apparently there are many nerve receptors in the beak. I won’t be trimming it. He’s a sweet boy. I don’t want to hurt him so I’ll try and just put something on his wattle to quicken the healing process.

Can someone tell me what is causing this sore on my Bourbon Red tom’s wattle?

Thank you for the replies! I’m glad to see that neither of you think it’s something worse than an injury, whether self inflicted or not. I’m going to do some research about the beak trimming. I’ve heard of it but I don’t know if it causes pain. I certainly don’t want to do it if it causes pain...

Can someone tell me what is causing this sore on my Bourbon Red tom’s wattle?

Hi, I’ve been watching this sore on Mr Tom’s wattle for a couple weeks now. Originally I was afraid it was Fowl Pox or something of the sort, but it hasn’t spread to any other part of his head or to any other flock member. When I first noticed it, it was black and now it’s fading to an ashy...

What kind of chick food do you use?

We use Tucker Milling unmedicated chick starter for the littles. I ferment feed and feed my older ones a mix of TM 22% layer pellets and TM Cutting Edge Conditioner which is a 16% scratch. I am about to transition all of the life stages to the unmedicated chick starter with a side of oyster...

    Headless flock

We are also in north Alabama (Northeast) and we heard a bobcat a few nights ago. The missing heads sounds like raccoons, but it seems like it would’ve had to have been bigger than a raccoon to drag a roo that big. I’m sorry for your loss. I’ll be glad to hatch you some more chicks from my Koko...
