Try a micro grater? You can also just peel the whole lemon. I do that a lot with my mom's Myers because there's so much oil in the rinds I use all of it instead of zesting. I just freeze dry the whole bits and crush them up later. Thin skins on these lemons.
Last week I freeze dried my home...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. We got home last night. What an adventure. We had 70mph wind gusts on Christmas Eve night. My 14' trampoline flew over our six foot fence and across the neighbors yard. I was impressed. Then we went camping and had a blast. Photos to come. Came...
I had to water today. I worked almost 8 hours of double time today, plus 2 yesterday. I'm wiped out though. Didn't get enough family time this weekend or enough sleep
I use cotton swabs. My spouse uses the BeBird camera ear cleaner. I use it every six months or so just to check on my handiwork. Spouse will not use the swabs.
I'm getting an egg almost every day! Wooooo! I still had to buy eggs though. 😑
Today, well, yesterday now, I pruned some grape vines, mulched one bed of garlic, and got one garden bed set up with the hoop plastic. Yay. ..... I just realized that I left my popcorn cobs outside in a bucket that I...
Frost has been impacting plants. Getting a good hard freeze tonight. I wasn't able to get the lettuce covered. Hopefully some makes it. Praying for lettuce to live through the night.
I can feel that my stress is impacting my health. I need to take a staycation. Working on the yard is the best...
We got our first freeze. I'm away, camping in the mountains. But I'm ready to put up my hoops when I get home tomorrow.
Panned up some color this weekend. Going to pan one last time tomorrow.
I was on academic scholarship for OU to be a commercial meteorologist. I wound up in the trades here in California. Now I install meteorological equipment and program it for big PV solar plants.
I am from Blanchard. I was at home for the 1999 event. My dad was at work in Norman. We couldn't get a hold of my mom. My grandma drove us along the border of the storm as it passed through that big field in Norman.
I placed an order yesterday! I'd had a cart sitting for over a month. All seeds. At this rate I'm going to need another binder.
Yesterday before we left I went in the garden and looked at the bed I planted more lettuces in. A lot have sprouted. I'm excited to have a good winter garden going.
We camp 2500' lower. We ride up to the top. It is a 6 hour day of riding. Crazy thing is, it's only 15-20 miles of trail up there. There's some good climbs. 😊
We sleep in a camping trailer. We used to tent camp, then we had a baby. We camp in all seasons so tent camping would have been miserable.
Thank you. I'm sure it's going to be a good one. It snowed up top during the last storm so there will be good riding and lots of fun for the kids.
Be safe! Praying everything holds up.
I got into my compost heap in the orchard. It's good stuff! I also rotated my spinning bin. One side is almost done, the other will need about 6 months since I put it in a few weeks ago.
Planted more peas, pulled weeds, getting things ready to mulch the garlic beds, and started up the freeze...
I may do that for my pots. It's getting harder to not shoot the cat. I keep telling myself that it's a predator for the rats and mice.... But it's getting harder. If I catch it in a trap, I'm taking it to the shelter. The owner can go get it. The cat also poops on top of the chicken run hardware...
Numbers are in!
1765# of olives, 31.29 gallons of oil!
Samples go to the lab this morning. 😁
As noted: Delicious, buttery and smooth.
We picked very late this year so there was much more ripe olives than usual.
Yesterday I shook and pulled all of the leaves off of the peach trees so I could spray them with copper and neem. The three that had it bad this year got a really thorough treatment.
My 2 gallon sprayer took a crap on me and was pumping the mix out through the pump assembly. So I had to pour my...
