Questions regarding preparing for geese to lay for the first time.

I have 4 Pilgrim (crosses I think, both males are starting to grow double humped knobs at the top of their beaks and according to Holderead's pamphlet on the breed this means crossbreeding has happened) that are now 9 months old. Somehow I had been under the impression they would lay till late...

1 Gander trying to kill the other gander?

Hi, All. Last June we bought 4 geese (Pilgrims, theoretically. 2 female, 2 male) and I think 1 of the gander's is trying to kill the other. We have them in a space roughly 45'x35' enclose with electric netting. They have a ~4'x8' house open on one 4' end. They have had a 6'x2' stock tank...

Chickens not using coop to roost at night.

1st off: I've read through at least 3 other threads on this over the last week and am posting this question because I think I've ruled out the main deterrents to chickens wanting to roost in their coop: Predators, Mites, space, ventilation. Timeline: 16 chicks born June 19th 8 Lavender Orps, 8...

Looking for a recommendation for a good Chicken log book.

I see quite a few on Amazon but some seem maybe like they are self published. I checked Rite in the Rain's website hoping they made a waterproof one but they don't. I'd love to find one that was waterproof paper...I can't imagine a regular paper one lasting very long if I use it in the field. TIA

Brown Egg layers laying green/olive eggs?

I have a mix of Lavender Orps (7) and Barred Rocks (6). They are now 25 weeks old and the 1st egg showed up the day before they were 18 weeks old. This past week we started seeing a green/olive egg almost every day now. I've googled but can't find any reason for either breed to lay this color...

    Coccidiosis? Double Check me, please.

Thanks for the warm welcome over on the intro sub. I've spent an hour or so today reading various threads on coccidiosis because I think my beginner flock might have it. Though, not seriously I don't believe. Going to bullet point the sequence of events in hopes of keeping this post short. lol...
