Looks darker than the pictures I’ve seen of discharge from vent gleet. Noticed she was separated from the flock and had no energy to eat. She seemed very disoriented and had trouble standing for a moment when I put her back down.
She is currently separated in a dog crate with food and water.
Seems to be. I heard him crowing this morning and saw him trying to mate his ladies so he seems normal. I have a pregnant goat so I was paying more attention to her but I’ll make sure to keep a closer eye on him and check that spot a couple times.
So I went to poke with a needle and the area was no longer swelling. I’m thinking maybe the sound I heard was the air going back to wherever it leaked from?
It feels soft and squishy. Based on how warm it is I believe there is blood (or something else) under. When I pressed on it gently it made kind of a crackling sound (not the whole time just like one crackle)
I was checking my rooster today (had some lice we treated last month) and noticed a large, warm bump below his neck. There are no feathers growing on it. I accidentally plucked a loose feather which is the red dot.
Any ideas as to what this could be? He is acting normal.

Phyllis came out of the coop this morning and ate a little bit before she started to bash her head into the ground like in the video.
I figured she was probably trying to dislodge something and did some quick research on impacted crops. I massaged her but I am a new chicken owner so I couldn’t...
Hate to say it but if there’s any chance she was mounted, she’s probably pregnant. 40% chance from just one mounting assuming the male finished his business
Hi! I recently acquired a rooster when he wandered onto my property on a 120° day. He’s been great and I’m going to get him some hens very soon.
Is there any way to tell how old the fella is?
I’m thinking he’s pretty young since his legs are so skinny and spur is small but I have no prior...
