Does anyone have a Buff bantam rooster for sale or a trio?
I have a friend that is looking for a gentle Buff bantam rooster or trio, maybe of the Cochin persuasion.
Needs to be in Oklahoma please :)
Thank you

My black Roos are all black it is just my blue Roos.
My main roo is blue, the next in charge is also blue....I do have some black Roos that are on the bottom of the order...even the hens fight them. I know that's a lot of Roos but I have a lot of hens.
So, with what you said could it only...
I raise quality birds and haven't had any new blood in my line for some time now. I raise blue/black/splash Ameraucana's and my line was started by reputable people. I was just wondering if it was normal to see light blue (on my roos) edged neck feathers, ticks of red/yellow here and...
One thing I've always noticed is that Ameraucanas always have white on the bottoms of their feet (whitish) and "EE" will be yellow on the bottoms of their feet. I'm not talking about right when they hatch but 3 maybe 4 wks old.

This may sound stupid, but could it have an allergy? Do chickens get those????
I found this dosage of Benadryl for chickens: 1/2 mg. per lb. every 8 hours.

I'm going to make an attempt at this, but any of you with more experience feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Horses are "registered" according to their parentage. There is no registry for chickens. There is a standard, and breeders attempt to keep and breed their birds according...
I was reading trying to catch up and saw a comment on the Splash will probably never be accepted and was just wondering why when it is just a double dilute off of the black. B/B/S breed true as far as in their "color scheme" so to speak. Maybe it's because of my horse background that I'm...

Thanks Mrs. Fluffy Puffy.....just what I thought I'm usually good at this but with my Ameraucanas...not so much..LOL. One thing I try to go by is leg size and this one also has fuller legs.

You're welcome
Here is a picture of my last hatch of blues and one black.
The one on the top left has excessive yellow but is coloring out normally.
As far as the toes go, you can see the blacks little toes....they darken up and usually have a white middle toenail but dark legs and...

I also raise BBS and I have had them this way and even my blues have thrown one but they color out normal when the feathers come in....they might have a few more white tips on the end of their wing but should loose them like normal.
A Blue is a single dilute gene on the Black and a Splash is a double dilute gene on the black.
A chick gets a gene from each parent. A blue bird will either pass the black gene or dilute gene on, a black can only pass a black gene, and a splash can only pass a dilute gene since it is a double...

Long spurs will definitely rough up a hen back. I haven't experienced low fertility from being unable to mount a hen, yet.
Thanks
I have been watching him and half the time he gets on and will either take a few times or he will just give up. I did trim his spurs and will see if it...
Just a general question about roosters.
My Ameraucana roo has really long spurs....well did, I just trimmed them off. Can the spurs being to long interfere with the breeding of the hens and cause fertility to be low or could they just rough up the backs of the hens?
