I have the Silked EEs. I’ve been breeding them for a little while. They look very Ameraucana-like, but still have the feathered shanks and walnut combs. They do produce silked offspring when crossing and backcrossing. My goal is to get Lavender though!
Okay thank you. Most are hatched and the rest are pipped! I lost one into hatch… I think it ran out of air in the aircell 😢 so I’ve been watching them closely. They do seem sticky so I’m assuming the humidity reading is not correct.
Should I set my eggs on day 23 then? I think the turning is...
Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m seeing what looks like blue? Could the Welsh Harlequin Drake passed on the bill sexing trait to his offspring even if it was over a Blue Runner hen? Or could one actually be from my fawn/white runner?
This is my first time hatching ducklings. I’ve hatched many chicks so I’m very familiar with my incubators.
I should note the breeds: Welsh Harlequin and Runner hens, and Welsh Harlequin Drake. Yesterday was day 24 of incubation. I went to check on the internal hygrometers and to my shock I...
I got mine from Metzer. They also have the Silver Runners and I’m so tempted! I just don’t trust USPS to deliver them safely. I’ve had too many issues recently with them to order anymore live birds 😭
Hello,
I lost one of my sweet black Indian Runner Duck today. Although I’m absolutely devastated, I’m holding on hope because I already had her eggs in the incubator and they’re developing.
My duck flock consists of Welsh Harlequins (including the Drake) and three runners (black, blue, and...
Hey everyone,
I’ve recently become NPIP certified and able to ship. Currently I offer just eggs for shipping and chicks for local. My question is what is your preferred platform for selling? I used eBay once but I’m hesitant to use it again. I have a pretty good following on social media, but...
She was one I was looking at! Unfortunately they didn’t offer eggs until after I ordered chicks. I’ll be getting some from Mt. Healthy. They’ve been such a great hatchery in the past. I’ll likely continue to follow Seeking Eden for additions next spring or so. Thank you!
He has the very precious O/O blue egg gene. My other boys can be turds to humans, but are great flock protectors. He’s a handsome guy and seems like a waste to cull. I was optimistic he’d grow up 😵💫 I also don’t want him harassing another flock.
I can add on that certification, but that’ll be another test day. I may do that when they have availability for further testing. Going in I didn’t realize that I needed that for shipping and really just didn’t want to harass my birds. The tester was great and said that it’s not required, but it...
Hello,
I just received my NPIP certification number and was going down the list for each state’s importation rules.
I had my flock tested for Pullorium-Typhoid but not AI (since it seemed unnecessary)…
so my understanding is that I cannot ship to:
New York
Florida
Virginia
West Virginia...
Right, he’s a bit younger than his brother but not much. The others don’t rush him when he tries. I was hoping he’d grow out of it but I don’t remember any of my other roos acting quite like that. He doesn’t ever fight or spur others in the flock; my flock gets along pretty well… but I also...
Hey everybody,
One of my roosters (under 1 year) is rough with my hens. I have 31 hens and three total roosters. My head rooster is kind of a turd to people, but a phenomenal flock rooster. He’ll keep the younger ones in check if they get rough… but one is rough with the girls. He doesn’t ever...
