Thanks for your replies. It does look a bit like Old English Game @cavemanrich.
Do you think there's any chance of hatching 3-4 month old eggs that been left in the field outside? Even if it's a really low hatch rate.
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone can help me identify this breed of chicken. It's rather small, maybe a bantam of sorts. It's only around 1/3 the size of the other breed of chickens I got and they are super fast. In fact they can basically fly up onto a tree. They survived a whole snowy...
Thanks for all the responses and suggestions guys
@sawilliams I wouldn't say it was growing but the part you highlighted was as thick has her leg. I believe it was a build up of gunk that just got bigger and bigger. Felt rock hard before soaking it.
@ChickNanny13 Ya I put here in a separate...
Thanks for the response. I don't have triple ointment. I was thinking tmr I'll try to take more off and then put either vaseline on it or neosporin. What do you think?
I still not sure what it is, it just kep growing and growing. Is it scaly feet or like mites?
It gotten worst over the next few days, so much that she didn't like walking anymore. I did as you said, soak her feet in Epsom salt and then tried to scrap off as much gunk as I could. I got most of it off but it's not completed. During the process I believe some of the skin was taken off...
Hi guys,
One of my chicken I noticed isn't walking right. He likes to sit down a lot too. His leg is covered in this hard white callus. I have a rooster like that too but he is fine.
What is the issue here and how can I cure it?
Here's a picture. What do you guys think?
Just curious. Why no pain killer? Also I saw someone in a video take the pus out with a tweezer and thinking of doing the same but this hen doesn't seem as calm so might be difficult.
One of my chicken has a really badly swollen eye infection with pus. I believe it might of have gotten into a fight with a much bigger one and had got her eye pecked. The other eye is completely fine.
I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions here. I don't have very much resources. But...
Just thought I give everyone an update. The 2nd chick which was a rooster died as well. I just had another revelation that it might be because they had about a third of an avocado. My wife didn't know it was poisonous to them when she fed it to them and nor did I. The 3rd and last chick...
One of them just died. The other one on the brink of death. Just breathing very mildly and occasionally gasping. The 3rd one seems to be doing ok for now.
Can I ask why you recommended coconut oil? I suppose that's not related to grit but just give them some digestible energy?
But it's...
Thanks so much for all your guys input. Two of them can't even stand right now so I tried to force feed them some coconut oil and they seem to try to puke it out. The smaller one is eating up the coconut oil chunks by itself willingly.
Ok when the mother was still alive they would be eatting right and worms, bugs and grass outside. Basically just find food themselves unless they want rice.
We also feed them the odd vegetable and things like that. At this point they seem to be in pretty bad shape, I am just surprised how...
I don't know what happened. I had 3 baby chicks, the mother was killed by a raccoon. We been keeping them in the house. They are about 6-7 weeks old still chirping.
And even this morning they were fine running around the house. We usually feed them uncooked white and brown rice and...
We have 3 chicks about a month old. Not too sure about the sex of the chicks yet. The mother hen was just killed today by a Raccoon, that managed to climb the chicken wire and bend the top of the fencing and get in.
Just wondering if anyone has any tips on raising the chicks and about what...
I've got a white rooster that we had for well over a year now. He has survived 2 coyote attack, both were close calls. One of the times he was actually pulled out to the road by the coyote before my brother saw it happen. But fortunately he dropped him after my brother chased after him. My...
