    NR 360 Humidity

I have having a horrendous time with my new NR 360 and humidity. For context, I'm in south Texas with 80% humidity, however this incubator is inside. I am struggling to maintain a constant steady humidity. Every time I refill even a tiny bit, it swings up to 60% and then a few hours later...

    Egg Eating

See I'd assume that, but they have free access to oyster shell at all times, and no one is keeping her from it that I can see.

    Egg Eating

I have a hen eating eggs. I caught her, egg handed, the other day, after noticing wet spots in the nesting boxes, and one or two broken eggs, over a few days. I immediately removed her, and she's in isolation so no one else picks up the habit, but is there anything I can do to stop her, or is...

    Flock Management Software

Is there any good flock management software out there? I have some for my rabbits, and was wondering if there are any for chickens as well.

    Nestbox Training

Hey all, new chicken lady here. So I have a mixed flock. 4 1 year old hens 9 15 week old hens 2 12 week old hens My older ladies prefer to free range, and will refuse to lay unless they get to free range. The older ladies were a gift from a neighbor who let them roam, and I started penning...

    Help? Hen with Rooster Plumage?

The 2 roos I have do just fine together, and have for awhile now. I think it's because my silkie is an absolute pushover. If I had to pick just one though, it's my big red roo, Stowaway. I'd fight people over that bird. He's so, so good to his ladies, and polite with me.

    Help? Hen with Rooster Plumage?

Thank you! Now I've gotta figure out what to do with him. 13 hens isn't enough for 3 roosters.

    Help? Hen with Rooster Plumage?

Hey all, so I have a small mystery on my hands. I purchased a rainbow egg assortment from Ideal Poultry. I got what I assume is a cuckoo maran. However, at 15 weeks, despite her coloring, she's looking suspiciously roostery to me. Her comb and wattles are turning red and large. She has...

I'm glad you like his collar. We do a lot of formal dinners for my husbands job, and as my service dog, Dovah has to go. So he needed something snazzy to wear.

He's average sized for the breed. He's 18 months old and about 55 lbs. He will probably fill out to be a few pounds heavier. He can be an absolute crackhead. But he has a day job, and works 8-10 hours a day as my medical alert dog. So he's not as bad as he could be. Overall, I really enjoy...

    Accidentally Bought the Wrong Feed

I don't know, it's a new to me brand. I had to swap feed stores. I used to get purina, but this brand is MG? It seems to be a local texas brand. 20% protein.

    Accidentally Bought the Wrong Feed

Hey, so I had a mixup at the feed store. I asked for Grower, I got starter, didn't realize until I got home. I have 10 girls who are 15 weeks old, and 4 girls who are a year old, and two roosters. I leave oyster shell out for all to have freely. Can I feed this bag, or do I need to return it?

    ID Stowaway the Roo, Please?

This is Stowaway. I'm trying to get breed, and age on him. My best guess is a brown leghorn, and I'm assuming he's on the younger side based on the smaller spurs?

    Texas

I hope everyone experiencing the storms is ok! We had those a week or two ago. We lost a tree by our driveway, but it was dead and needed to come down anyway. The weather here is gloomy, but I'll take gloomy over the storms right now!

    New Hens Need Advice

Just an update. I treated all three hens who have dirty butts, we washed them in warm water, and I put Monistats generic around, and in their vents. I also added ACV to their water. I identified and banded the hen who is wheezing to monitor her. I also kinda rescued a silkie roo today. He's...

    New Hens Need Advice

I got some new hens from a neighbor today. I have checked them over. So far, no lice or mites that I can see. Feet look ok. But 2 of them have dirty butts. I have looked and it doesn't look like vent gleet. But they are dirty, and I'm sure that means there's some sort of problem. Everyone...

    Leg Banding

Sorry to ask so many questions. I just got 5 barred rocks, and one is special needs. So I need to be able to identify her at a glance. My plan was to use colored zip ties to mark who is who, but I've heard mixed things about zip ties? Are they safe, or do I need to find a different leg band...

    Texas

My bonus hens arrived. Unfortunately, the neighbor managed to capture his neighbors rooster with them. So we need to figure out who exactly he belongs to, and return him. I'm also going to have to band these girls. I cannot tell them apart, and I know one is elderly, and will need to be...
