Tips on finding a good home for a peacock

That sounds pretty nice :) Let’s keep in touch then. I wouldn’t be able to drive him till early October, but there’s a chance we could make it work. Thanks for your interest in Tony. I am attaching a couple of photos of him taken today.

Hello Everyone! I am in the Dallas area and raised a male peacock from a hatchling. He is now 2 1/2 months and very friendly. Sadly, I cannot keep him forever where I live. Looking to find him a good home, with someone who already owns and is used to handling peafowl. If anyone is interested...

Tips on finding a good home for a peacock

I frequently drive from Texas to Missouri and go through Oklahoma. If you were looking to adopt him, I could potentially drop him off. I wouldn’t want to part with him without knowing that he is going to a good home, as I am sure that you can understand:)

Tips on finding a good home for a peacock

Hello! I have a lovely, docile 8 week old peacock (at least I believe it is a male) that I will unfortunately not be able to keep long term. I really want to find him a good home. I was looking in this group and the most recent thread on the topic that I could find recommended Craigslist, but...

    Peafowl Living Outside

This looks like a perfect situation to me but I am not experienced. Just like you, I am raising a lone peachick that I have become very attached to. Sadly, I don’t have a place as well suited to keep them and will have to find him a new home. I hope you get to keep yours. They are wonderful.

PS- I didn’t express myself well. It is a chicken coop, but I don’t have any chickens in it 😁 It looks like the photo below .

Those are all very good points. The enclosure is brand new — I got it from Amazon and debating whether I should assemble it now. There would be no other bird with it, but I fear snakes, and maybe even mosquitoes. I am now considering assembling a structure inside my garage. Just hope it wouldn’t...

Hi, KsKingBee. I was considering putting my peachick in a chicken run. It will be 7 weeks and 3 days then. Is it too soon? It is becoming problematic to keep mine indoors. I just saw now that you only put yours on the ground at 12 weeks. Any advice is appreciated.

    Peachicks X snakes

Hello. I would like to transition my 7+ week peachick to a chicken run that I ordered from Amazon. It is supposed to keep out all large animals, except snakes. We are in Texas and we get snakes occasionally. While I was told that adult peacocks can take a snake, I was wondering if it would be...

Flaring like a male but? Sexing is hard!

Oh, cool! So you think I have a hen? That’s great news, as I have heard that it is often easier to find a good home for a peahen than a peacock, and I won’t be able to keep her/him after the end of September. I saw these bars on the wing and thought it might be male, but what do I know?
