    Withholding food in the morning - chickens are hungry and so are the tapeworms, I do it in the morning and hold food for two hours and re introduce food slowly so they don’t over eat causing impacted crop etc. you want the tapes to get the med and if there is other food then less of an impact.

    I am so sorry for your loss. No one tells you how hard it is to lose them. I think we just have to know we love them and give them a best life possible . Doesn’t make it easier especially when they are our favorites and we are close with them. Thank you for sharing this with me.

    Absolutely! Thank you! I do have calcium Gluc as of now after a hiccup with a chicken in liquid. This chicken and duck world is challenging for sure. First year… zero problems. Year 2 and I’m not sure I can keep up lol

    Thank you for this information. I will keep her going as long as i can. She is my baby and is now a house chicken. She does love it so as much as i can keep her happy I will. There is a hormone I can or her on but will compromise her liver and kidneys apparently so I’ll dig some more on that.

    It’s been 100 here with massive smoke. I’m in the middle of 12 fires in Colorado. It was warm. They always had shade, a pool, fresh water and sprinklers. She was playing the the water right before it happened.

    Unusual droppings

    I found this early this morning and have one hen who has a little water in her crop and nothing else. Same hen I suspected yesterday but I won’t be home until later to start deworming. Should I add electrolytes or any tips on what to do on safeguard? It’s my first time beside tape worm

    I actually have only seen one egg in the past two days and has been hot in Colorado. I have 8 chickens so that was odd to me as they have been laying almost daily. Thank you. I have safeguard on hand as well as calcium so I will try to find out who did this and de worm the entire flock.

    Will be 2 next march, she seemed kind of under the weather yesterday but a little more active today. Now, I watched all evening to see who did this and I am assuming it’s her. There was another dropping similar in color but not the same consistency but didn’t catch who did it.
