I have an almost 3 yr old hen who has suffered with reproductive issues in the past, she developed an impacted crop which I have been working on for a week now.
I have done massage with 2 tsp coconut oil, tried olive oil as well. The crop is squishier now but still not emptying. No foul breath beside a mulch smell every so often when she burps ( didn't know they could) Vet prescribed a med that is supposed to "flush the tract" and hoping it helps her to empty but she went from 6 lbs to 3lbs so he didn't feel good about crop surgery.
I read about papaya enzyme and Metamucil? but can't find anymore info on it. She won't eat crumble but needs some kind of food after this much time. I got her to eat some egg yolk but had to put her back with her flock so she would see them eat it and finally went for it. (nervous about that) but glad she got something liquid. She has had some poultry cell as well and hitting her again with 2 ml this afternoon, Droppings are bright green assuming because she is not eating that much but also wondering if an infection may have come back and worked its way up the tract? any info would be appreciated!

I had a hen that had reproductive issues since the end of her life. It turns out she was having crop problems were it wouldn't empty. So I treated with coconut oil as you are doing and so on. After a week of doing all this I was giving up. She was losing weight not drinking or eating. I saw her droppings and it looked like egg white. I gave her a bath for egg bounding but I couldn't feel the egg. She then passed and I did a necropsy and she had an egg very high up to the point that it wasn't possible to get it out.

Have you ever thought about her being egg bound? What do her droppings look like? Can you keep her inside? With that much weight loss, don't give anything that can be to harsh on her body. Maybe some yogurt are cooked egg can help.

She is mostly inside but was getting rather depressed so I had to take her out for time with her flock and that worked her right up. She no longer lays and if she does they are soft shelled or shell less so I have to watch her but she did have 3 drippings today that were not green so I’m thankful. Going to try the Elm bark and go for the papaya enzyme with fiber and see what happens. Poor girl is so tired of me rubbing her, giving her meds Sheldon’s my sh”! So to speak. lol. Houseful she has put on even an ounce at this point.
