    Pretty Mutt chick

This chick is an EE barnyard mix from my brother's flock. I love her coloring-- we call her calico. Any thoughts as to what she might have been crossed with to get colors like this? Some feathers are barred, some are laced, some are buff, others black... and her under feathers are blue. Super cute.

    2013 project for my boys

I think it would have to be at least a couple from each state-- in case the hatch rate isn't that great. The idea is to do it all over the year, but we have three incubators, so space would probably not be that horrible of an issue. The chicks we would hatch would live here with us or at...

    2013 project for my boys

My sons are wanting to do a hatching project for 2013. They want to hatch eggs (any kind of eggs) from all of the lower 48 states. I figured this would be the best place to voice it about and see if anyone would be interested in participating.

    Murderous stray dog= heartbroken family

here's a baby pic of everyone who was killed... seven foot fences couldn't keep this predator away. I'm pretty positive it was a dog as my cat was sitting right there when I ran out and chased it away, and wasn't even worried, plus the fact that the only possible access point was on the porch...

    Arizona Chickens

Reposting this from another post, as we are in tucson... We hatched a pilgrim gosling about two months ago, a sweet little male, who was the only survivor of insanely thick egg shells. Tonight a stray dog went through two fences and killed our goose, and our muscovy ducks. We are devestated...

Geese needed== eggs, goslings, or whatever no African or Chinese, pls.

Neighborhood stray dogs went through two fences to kill our muscovies and my six year old's pet goose-- the love of his life. He desperately wants a goose to replace his love, and his brother really wants one too. We are located in AZ, so long-distance shipping on adult animals isn't going to be...

    Pilgrim gosling drooling massively?

We have a single pilgrim goose-- about two months old. He is a family favorite, but something is really off today. He's not interested in feed (which never happens) has tripped several times, but, what worries me the most, every time he bends his neck it looks like all the water I've been giving...
