Meyer hatchery supposedly has chicks. They would be hatchery chicks if still available. They are in Ohio, you could call and see, probably have to order a minimum if shipped.

Rather old thread, or so it appears, but for me, I have found straw on the floor and under the roost and grass clippings from the lawn in the nest boxes to work best. Of course both are free to me, so it is rather a given.
DIL just lost a hen tonight to a possum, Son caught it in the act and shot it. Told him his roost was too low. Maybe now he'll move it up some.
