I bred a Brahma to an Lavender Americana. I was thinking it would give me light green eggs but I've gotten blue or brown eggs. So would this mean they are Easter eggers and why aren't they laying any green? I'm still learning at this chicken stuff
Hi, I'm not sure if this is where I should post this but does anyone know if I'd bred my light brahma rooster to an ameraucana would the offspring lay greencolored eggs?
I got them from Tractor Supply as St.Runs. I was hoping at least one of them was a girl. Oh well..such is luck lol
Though I would have thought they'd be trying to crow. I have a Golden Sebright around the same age that is crowing like crazy.
I got this chick back around March 24. All of the other chicks are just about fully feathered but this little gal. I'm not sure what kind of bird she is. I did order a large assortment. I'm not sure if she is just slow at getting the feathers or if there is something wrong with her. She seems...
Here are some of my Easter Eggers, they will be 3 weeks old on Tuesday. So some of the pics are in different stages. I need to update them. I too am very curios and excited to see what mine will look like as adults. I do have one that I think will remain pure white.
I thought I'd share some pics of my Cochins. These girls have stolen my heart. One is Red and one is Blue. Both are almost two weeks old. Though the Red one is extremely friendly as you can see her with my dog. My dog is a gentle giant.

I'm not sure where to post this pic but I thought it was really cute. My almost 2 week old Red Cochin and my 2 year old Golden Retriever who is a gentle giant. They are both my sweeties.

That's exactly how my Lucy is. She will tackle me and climb my arm so she can sit with me. Even though they are outside now and don't get as much attention she is still my sweetest, I'm sure yours will stay sweet! The others only come to me when they feel like it.
She climbs up your...
Ok thanks for the advice. I changed the shavings today so maybe that triggered it. She is a Red Cochin and such a sweetie. She'll leap over the others when she sees one of us and runs right up to us. She loves to be held, I hope she stays that way as she ages lol I never thought I could feel...
My chicks will be two weeks old on Tuesday. They all seem healthy but the one started sneezing tonight. Should I be concerned? I'm new to chickens so forgive e but now she has me worried. She is eating and drinking and very active. She is one of the friendliest of the bunch, I'd hate to have her...
That flat area looks different than the others so I was curious to what exactly what kind of chick it was. I can tell the golden laced and what I believe the silver laced wyandotte is. I thought a first the hatchery made a mistake and threw in a different chick than what I ordered. Its supposed...
