    Red golden pheasant

Thanks Tony, think I'll just stick with my original plan of just a single male. Now just have to build another aviary and locate a pheasant. (Not easy in Louisiana)

    Red golden pheasant

Thanks for the advise. My aviary will be like this one if I can find another satellite dish. ten feet diameter and over 6 feet tall. How many do you think it could house, comfortably.

    Red golden pheasant

Does anyone know if you can keep just a single male pheasant? I want to build a aviary and really only want one pheasant. Would it be better to have a pair? I am not interested in breeding. What do you suggest?

    Mean fantail. What to do?

One of my fantail cocks is running all the other birds off their nests. His hen is sitting on eggs (he doesn't help much) and he is trying to take over all the other nesting boxes. I locked him into his own box with his hen. Will this help? How long should I leave him in?

    Sexing Pigeons?

An ole timer once showed me how to sex a pigeon by feeling the pelvic bones. If the two pelvic bones are pointy and thin, then it's a hen. If it feels more like a flat toothpick then it's a male. I'm not sure how accurate but worth a try.

Ok finally, I got my new aviary pictures posted.

I live in the deep south so winters are not a problem. There is a nesting/roosting loft up under the dish but I will put a tarp around the whole pen during our rare cold and damp days.

Here they are at last. I made this from an old satellite dish that was in my neighbors field for many years. My birds and I are really enjoying it.

    Coop styles for small yards

Cute coop! I built a "Stagecoach tractor" and it worked out well. Got the plans from ebay you may want to take a look. Be warned, it's not easy.
