I will have some NEXT YEAR...LOL...you probably want them sooner than that tho.
Well case Ive really reached my limit on chicks his year lol went from 5 to 30 so my intentions were for next year!! Maybe I'll have to get a couple from each of you lol.
I think a love of bargains is a must for chicken raising lol. Last night I sat a the side of my brooder and watchd my 30 chicks for over an hour. It's incredible how entertaining they can be.
Just wanted to say hello and thank you to tgrlily for the silkies i got from her this weekend, all are doing very well and have intergrated into the flock with no problems. I look forward to getting some Ameracaunas!!
Well as the tiltle implies I received my very first order of chicks this morning at 645. I ordered 26 and received 27 happy healthy chicks. I'm so excited all of them are doing great so far. I'll post pics as soon as I can.
Thanks ddawn for the response. I was hoping it would work! I really dont have it in my budget to build another brooder. Though I probably should have tried to be more resourceful on the first one and saved money but hey we live we learn right!?
Mother Nature is absolutely Amazing isn't she!!?? Thanks for the responses! I love learning about the proccesses involved in chicken rearing/owning/raising
Ok so I'm extremely new to chickens really still waiting on my first chicks to arrive(4-4) but have been loving this site it's truly a wonderful thing. I don't plan on hatching eggs but I'm very curious to what lockdown is and means, I know it says in the sticky to leave the bator closed as much...
Ok so I think a built my brooder to small to have all my chicks in it until 8 weeks give or take. I built a 4x3 brooder and being a newbie realized after the fact it's not going to house 26 chicks for too long. So here's my question I have a dog crate for my great ddane so its the huge one not...
Congrats on the new fuzzy butts! Im wondering if you're looking to sell them as a package or if you'll sell a couple. I'm also getting chicks the week of the 4th and would love to add a couple silkies and a polish. Let me know if you're willing to separate

Ok so the whole brooder should be about 95 for the first week but with a cautious eye as to not over heat them. I think I can easily enough move the mounting post to the center.
I'm so excited about getting my little gals. My 2 yo daughter won't put down the Meyer catalog. We decided...
Hey everyone just wanted to say I love this site been lurking for about 6 months now. My question is I know that under the lights you should have around 95 degrees for the fist week then drop 5 degrees a week after that but what is the other end suppose to be? I just built a 4 ft by 3 ft brooder...
