Yeah, he a big pretty boy for sure. He was the only one that turned out this way. Does that hen look correct?
The RIR look correct except for the comb...I didn't realize it was possible for them to have a different one though.
I've been meaning to post this for a while. We got these two out of a straight run purchase from a local breeder. They're supposed to be buff orpingtons...but look more like a comet or something. What do you think?
Also, the other picture if of a pair of RIR roosters. Is it normal for them to...
Ok guys,
My sons eggs are starting to hatch now. I just wanna double check some things. They are in a hovabator now....should I just leave them in there for a couple of days? I will give them water in a shallow dish to avoid drowning and allowing them to reach it easily...will they eat finely...
Hey Guys,
My son got a hovabator and turner for his bday and we're about to load the set of eggs. We've let it run for a couple of days and have the temperature set at 99°-100°. I think he needs to get a hygrometer as there is no way to measure humidity. Question; do you just place a container...
Quick newbie question...so we have three Coturnix in the cage and a bucket with a hole in it for them to get in...they don't like it...what do you guys use? I was thinking about a rubbermaid container with a hole in it but I'm not sure they will use it either...
Thanks,
It's a male and two females. The wire on the bottom looks like it's working for their feet and the sides have optional wooden guards. I need to do something a little better for them to get in though...right now it's bucket with a doorway...lol
Ok, So my 12 y/o son talked me into letting him get some Coturnix. We got that chick-n-hutch from TSC and a trio of Texas A&M's. One actually laid an egg in the box on the way home.
Question; I am assuming the hens are missing some feathers near their rear end due to mating like chickens. That...
Oh yeah!! Craigslist...duh!
Well if they get too noisy we can take them out to my dads in the country...he's got plenty of chickens and turkeys.
As far as smell...they can't say anything as they never clean up after their dogs:D
