One of my chickens (Martha) has suddenly become poorly three days ago She can only walk a few steps then flops to one side , she is eating , but not as much as usual and is drinking ok. She laid an egg yesterday , but we have to lift her in and out of the coop .

Last year my broody hen (Amy ) hatched 12 out of 12 eggs and all where perfect and healthy.
She has gone broody again and I'm going to out some more eggs under her , I want to involve my grandson (who is 3)
from the beginning and want to make a record of the development for him in a fun way ...
I let mine out from the coop into the enclosed area that is outside about two weeks ago so they would be 4 weeks then , but it has been really cold here , I would have let them out sooner if it had been warmer, mum is wonderful with them if she thinks its not safe she clucks at them and they...
[/IMG]. 6 weeks old now and how they have grown , all 12 thriving and growing fast , mum is very protective and has been amazing , she is only a baby herself , don't know which are boys or girls yet but they are all so cute and very entertaining to watch x
I know I can't tell you how exciting and unbelievable it was to find the last 3 chicks and we have 2 chicks that are definatekt girls , they have the distinct brown sex line x x x
So excited ...Amy has been sat on her 12 eggs now 20 days , I let her out every day to feed and drink then she goes straight back in. The eggs seem very light now ( is that normal) will they hatch soon xx.
