Is there a way to determine the age of my hens? And, is there an age that is too old to butcher and eat a chicken? We have one hen that hasn't layed any eggs since we got her months ago and are thinking about eating her.

Thanks a lot, that makes us feel better. We were just told that the breed is a mix from the states...they are referring to them as "Boris Brown" but said they are mixed with Rhode Island Red. I'll post again when they start laying eggs.
