The lady I got my Silkies from had a GORGEOUS frizzle hen, and she had no idea how she was getting them, I had never seen one until I saw her. Does anyone know how they are made? Just curious.
Today has been the coldest day in a while... highs are in the 50's lows 40's but before today it could be as hot as 90 and lows as high as 60....gotta love TN weather... the same reason i've not put my veggies out yet....
Thanks you guys! Yes they are almost a month old. I'm really hoping I just have one roo (the pretty colored baby) but ya never know. I think all my bannies are females....or at least I hope...can't have more than one roo, I only have 7 chickens.
My chicks are 3.5 weeks old, we are wanting to move them outside into their coop (with their 250 heat lamp of course), they are getting crowded in their giant breed dog crate and wanted ya'lls opinions. Thoughts anyone?
Thanks guys!!! It's still so surreal, i think it'll be more real to me when I see the baby on ultrasound...I will say i've had morning sickness (more like all day long sickness) ended up having to call the dr and get some b6 antihistamine losenges to take....thank God for those...they taste...
So The first three photos are of the same chick i'm pretty positive it's a roo, he only one that hasn't got a real tail and his colors are different.
Next two pics are of the same chick.... only one that has a comb this big right now
These last two of the EE's are one pic per chick...
Thanks! I think the old english bantam may be a roo...and the americana that has the least amount of feathering on his wings maybe too...but what's funny is the fluffy americana is the nicest out of the bunch...
So I lost three bantam chicks from TSC, they all did the same thing, slept alot, were unsteady on their feet....this would last about a day or so then they would go limp and go into respiratory distress (open mouth breathing) would seize then die I bought four silkies yesterday from a private...
