    They are gr8!!! In fact, I just added 5 midget whites to the mix... I did, however, lose 5 meaties to a fox two nights ago... I added skirting around my tractor yesterday and that should fix it... At least I think it should... Thanks for checking up on them!

    I have just finished "starting" my poults... I had to put marbles in the water AND put the feed in a pan made of crumpled up aluminum foil (shiny side up)... to teach them to peck at the food... I would say starting turkeys is a little more difficult.... BUT, not the end of the world...

    That's what so great about this whole forum!!! On a different note, with my chickens I always add some MannaPro chick grit to their feed once they get 2-3 weeks old to help with digestion. Once they are big enough to go outside I always have some free choice, but don't mix it into the feed...

    I got the poults at a local poultry swap this past saturday... They are bourbon reds and were hatched by a reputable person... The brooder is a 3 ft plastic swimming pool with pine shavings topped with paper towels til they figure out the feed situation. Heat lamp on them about 2-3 ft above...

    The swap was GREAT! I found my turkeys!!!! I picked up 4 bourbon reds today and am planning to get 4-5 midget whites next weekend from A.T. Who knows, I may just shift my meat production over to turkey... Anyway, Great day!!! Looking forward to the next one.
