Completely stumped as to why my chickens are losing feathers

Yes, it is odd. The Reds look perfect, the rock bars are so so and the blacks look terrible. I looked for any creepy crawlies on them and found nothing. If it was mites, wouldn't ALL of the chickens look terrible?

Completely stumped as to why my chickens are losing feathers

I have 11 chickens, three New Hampshire Reds, three rock bars and four astrolorps. The Reds are perfectly fine looking. The rock bars lost some feathers around their vent/butt which i thought was molting, but have not grown back. The astrolorps though, they look terrible. They are missing...

Help with my Chicken's (broken?) leg!

Thank you all! I am now on my first full year of having chickens, and learned everything from this site. It must be the hip, but I will check the leg again. It is quite sad to see her just sitting there as she is one of my very favorites. I'm hoping it will heal.....

Coop size question, and first post!

Excellent thank you. DDMiddle, my folks are originally from South Bend.... Thanks again for the tips. Then entire project is nestled among trees to provide a good windbreak from north winds, and will be about 12 x 18 with the coop being being 8 x 6 within. Alot of work to start.....whew!

Coop size question, and first post!

Hi all! I raised chickens long ago, but am just getting back into it, and am really excited, and excited to find this forum. I am in central Texas, and am building a coop for 15 chickens. In the run I am giving about 10 ft per chicken. Now for the Coop, I am giving the 4 feet as required...
