Well I got one in the trap this morning.. he/she will have to wait until I've had a coffee.. LOL
Congratulations!
I caught one last night, too. That's #5.
I hope I don't have to get 5.. lol
This is a young one.. So as much to my dislike.. I'm sure this won't be the last.

That is a great example of how it should look top to bottom. You should be able to see all those tail feathers from the side, not just two or three.
Walt
Kathy thanks for posting the pic.
Walt, thanks for...

The price she charges is whole. It's extra if we want them cut up. But that part I'd rather do myself. She has pretty much a commercial set up for doing them. Most of time she does CX's.
Plus she likes to talk me out of a roo once in a while.. LOL

I extremely lucky in that aspect.. There is a woman in this area that does them for a 1.35 a piece bagged. She does an outstanding job of it as well. I can't hardly justify doing it myself for that. Besides, myself and a friend time ours to go in together. So she usually gets 50-100...

hahahaha, not a chance. NOTHING in moderation here! I have nearly 200 chicks and grow outs on the ground now. Heck, might even be over 200. I dare not count them. Once I get some butchered, I can start again! http://community.invisionpower.com/uploads/post-10849-1152373297.gif

Do you do this, like I do ...........
*talkin' to myself* I need just ONE more pen. Just one more...... Just ONE more!
Now, with 16, I still need ONE more!
You hear the voices to??... wow.. seems like many on here have that "problem"..

Stevenson.. I can only speak from the experiences I've had so far.. Keep your best ones and then hatch a bunch from them and you'll be amazed and how much variation you get from the same set of parents.
Thanks Catdaddy and Kathy... Tomorrow I have to set up with the Vet and he makes the final decision. Though we've pretty much come to the conclusion there isn't much he can do for her.
Well Kathy maybe we'll get a 2fer tonight on coons..
Stevenson... Sorry I didn't reply about your birds... I...
Well I made the latest cut of 20 more roos.
That takes me down to 5 adults and around 20 more adolescents of varying ages. Though the feed store is going to be sad..
This round I Kept the largest/type bird first.. which happen to have the "wrong" shanks.. Hopefully I can get the size...

Looking good..
Like that set up.
Another month on the roos should really tell the story as to who the "candidates" are.. LOL.. Many of the ones I have here really didn't start showing what they "really are" until about 20-24 weeks.

wooohooo!!!! Won't be long!!! I hope you have a big freezer
By October-November I am guessing I will have at least 100 chickens in the freezer. THEN, I will have more processing to do when the F2s get here and grown. I am gonna be sick of chicken. Good thing I have so many kids...

That's what I thought, too! You see the ratios though? Hahaha, only 1 in 32, approx. Oh well, I will have lots of hatching to do, and will surely have tons of grow outs in the processing pen.
Another good thing about being barred buff.. You won't notice as much when they decide to...

I figure I should have this test breeding wrapped up in a couple of months. I want to do more then just one round that way it leaves little room for error/misinterpretation. I will certainly fill you in on the findings.
Interesting on your friends Cornish being only on one leg. Hence...
