I keep my goats and my chickens in the garage at night. We have bears, coyotes and foxes, as well as the ocasional panther in our yard at night and none of them are getting my feathered and hooved family members!

They're Nubian-Fainting goat crosses, but they don't faint. The lil' boy screams like he's being murdered when you try to move him a little, it's really funny, but I'm being very patient with them.
My new babies are here, unfortunately my camera is broken so I can't post pics, but they are adorable. One boy and one girl, the boy has blue eyes and the girl has a beautiful brunette coat so naturally I named them.....Francis Albert and Ava!! When my camera is working again, I'll post some pics.
Tampa isn't that far away from me so I'll offer what I've done. Turn off the heat lamp during the day as it will get way too hot for the little ones. I learned a terrible lesson, losing 15 babies to the heat, because they couldn't handle it. The family here at BYC gave me some good advice...
Last night my wife came to me shyly and said,"Honey???" I already knew it had something to do with spending, so I asked, "Now what did you buy?" She said, "I hope your not mad but I ordered some Silkies and Giant Cochins, I just can't help it, I love the babies!" So in a month we'll have some...
Thanks Peaguy...and thanks for the welcome! I have Powerade right now, because that was what was on sale!! But I went ahead and did it half and half and they are acting like they just found King Solomon's mines! I wonder what blue feathers will look like on them?? LOL

I have a friend that claims he can do it, but I don't know if he can. I know I have a little time to decide, but I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do it.
I just put them back in the coop, another thunderstorm is brewing, but before I did, they were misted twice and I turned on the sprinkler and they played in it. Also I'm restricting food until this evening. I'm trying everything that was suggested so far. Thankyou everyone!!
Sorry for the barrage of questions lately, but one more, is Powerade diluted OK to give my chickens, until I can get to the feed store and buy some to put in their water?
Sorry I didn't get back here sooner, but I was exhausted. They are 4 weeks old, and no runny stools or blood. They are in constant shade. I will try the feeding at night instead of during the day, I've also put a fan on them. Today they seem fine, but I'm watching them to make sure they will...
I've lost 3 just today and a total of 6 altogether. I called Welp's and they asked if I was pulling their food for 12 hours, which I am. They said it may be too hot for them, so I actually brought them into the house and put them in the air conditioning, so they looked at me and then huddled...
OK, my wife and I separated the red stars and the leghorns, the red stars almost immediately calmed down, went to sleep, or started playing. The leghorns were still freaking out if we were breathing near them! Oh well, it's a learning process....as soon as the chics get me trained I'll be OK!!
Last week we got our shipment from My Pet Chicken, 12 Red Stars and 13 Leghorns, all girls. They will not settle down at all. If my wife or I just try to change their water they run around peeping and trying to get away from us. Our first batch of chicks, which are now about a month old(5...

It was black with a yellow stripe on both sides of it, I did a quick google and found out it was a garder snake...just to be sure. We have a coral that lives under our air conditioner and I know they can be deadly, but it doesn't bother us and we leave it alone. Since it moved in we...
