Yep, that would be us, here in TX. We've got a 4th grader, a 2nd grader, a K, and a 2 year old. We love it, too. Although the house never looks clean.......
We're in Albuquerque at the moment, enjoying the Balloon Fiesta. One of the perks of homeschooling, of course!

Dear friends,
We have a 6 month old Non-Bearded White Crested Black Polish Rooster that needs a new home. Although he was one of our first roosters to find his voice, the others have outgrown him quickly and he is getting picked on all the time...he's afraid to come out!
He had beautiful white...
I"m with you....I had a hard first day doing my meat birds as well this summer,
After that hard day, I loaded up my 17 meat birds into dog crates, pulled out the seats in my minivan, and drove them 2 hours to Houston to get them processed. What a bad idea! I can't tell you how bad my van...
We've had a 7 week old chick get away from the children, and then we found her 2 1/2 days later. I think she hid out in a hole. So don't give up hope yet!
I"m so sorry that one of your pets hurt another.....he was just being a dog, and didn't mean to make you sad!

Welcome to BYC! So kind of you to offer chicken help!
You sure have a lot of animals. Are you a vet student at A&M? i only ask because I was, once. Loved it, and loved College Station!

ooooh! I love it! How exciting!
I wonder if it will get bigger as she gets older. Ours seem to have, from our red star one.
We did get a new one to lay today for the first time, but as it was white, I'm thinking its not one of the EE. I suspect its our hamburg...something. She's got white...
You know, I was going to post the exact same thing this very night, about our 7 EEs, which came from McMurray on March 14th. Ours look just like yours, as well. Notice, we are in Beaumont, TX, very similar in weather to Cypress where you are (we recently lived there). Our new neighbor here...
We live north of Beaumont, TX, and evacuated on Friday afternoon to Nacogdoches. We came back yesterday, as the storm completely missed us.
Luckily, our chickens, rabbit, and parakeets did ok on their own for the 2 1/2 days. We'd left the hose running for the chickens, so they had a slight...
We have a flock of 18 birds, with 15 hens. The oldest is 6 months old (breed unknown) , the next 8 are 5 1/2 months old (EEs), and then we've got 5 aracaunas that are almost 4 months old.
We have been finding eggs for about 1 month now, about 2 every three days, in the same place. They have...

Thank you so much for offering! We have evacuated from the Beaumont area, to Nacagdoches. Unfortunately, we had to leave our chickens, rabbit, parakeets, and snake, and we have no idea when we'll be able to return to them. But, upon arriving here, I've learned that there is an expo center in...
Thank you for sharing about the egg laying experience! I just had the most wonderful laugh over it, worried about your chicken first, then hearing about what it really was!
aren't they an experience!
Sincerely,
Jennifer
