I already offered up room to FS if any grower/breeder houses get hit. Though I can only take in a dozen or so chickens.

Thank you so much for offering! We have evacuated from the Beaumont area, to Nacagdoches. Unfortunately, we had to leave our chickens, rabbit, parakeets, and snake, and we have no idea when we'll be able to return to them. But, upon arriving here, I've learned that there is an expo center in town who takes evac'ed animals...of all kinds. Evidentally, some folks refuse to evac if they have to leave their pets. So, they've got our dog at the moment.
Anyway, for others who have to evacuate, google in tx animal shelter emergency, and you'll get info about which towns have things like this set up. such a wonderful idea.
But, as for you, thank you so much for offering a place! If I had read that before we left, we'd be in your town!

I could not leave my furries and feathereds behind so would be eternally grateful for an offer like this if I was in the storm's path. Alternatively, they'd all be in the car with me till I could reach safety! If I had no car, I know it would be quite the challenge/dilemma then....as happened with many during Katrina......

That is really kind, I'm bumping this board up! When Katrina hit, we let a family from New Orleans stay in our rv/camper thing. Your a really good person!

Glad to say no one has needed our help so far.

We are on the list at the sheriff's office and no calls from them either. I am hoping and praying everyone will be safe.

Don't be afraid to ask for help this is a serous storm. Again we are here if any one needs a place to stay .
