Hello there. I see you said this picture is 3 months old.
I was wondering whether you could post a current picture, as I have a little roo that looks very similar to your boy (7-8 months old) and I'd love to see how he might develope :)
I do like these birds, and have desided to have a go at breeding them.
I find them to be very tameable, and that they tend to settle nicely when being handled.
They seem to travel well and are all for a trip in the car to see friends.
I was very impressed at how well my young cockerel behaved...
I wish I lived in America just so I could buy some of these beautiful birds.
I love my Araucana's (English with tails, lavender + black) and my one splash Americana look alike.
I think these birds look stunnind with the silkied feathers.
What a great project you all have been working on.
I hope...
When I first started with this breed I bought a trio. The rooster was my first ever, and even now, has the best attitude and behavior of any roo I have owned (I currently have 5). But with all that said I later raised a pair up from chicks. The female was lovely, but the boy was very agressive...
The two hens I had were purchased from a local lady that was moving house (England). They were 2 and a half years old, and in need of a new home. She had alot of other breeds, but these were so beautiful that they stole my vote immediately. Stunning lacing, yellow legs and very large and heavy...

And a bit of both can...
This is a 10 week old laverder cockerel (Arnold)
This is the same bird 3 months later (still Arnold)
This is a rooster (Edward 2 and a half years old)
They both developed some blond leakage around their saddle and hackle after 16 weeks.
Two very different birds from seperate...
The Australlian Araucana seem to be the same as our English Araucana's.
I have them in different colours, and have currently got two lavender males for breeding.
Your two are 100% males!
Very pretty
I had this same problem with my Cochin (Pekin) Bantam roo and his two bantam ladies.
I wanted some fertile eggs but he just wasn't doing the deed.
I studied the birds closely and noticed that he didn't crow very often either.
As they were kept in there own coop with run (away from my large fowl...
