Yeah I would....the medicine in the food is only to prevent coccidosis and isn't necessary for them if they are laying age. Most people say it's not harmful to eat eggs from chickens on medicated food but I don't.
Congratulations on your first eggs though!!!
I once knew a girl named Tanaya....I always loved it. And I grew up with sisters named Rainbow and Echo...but their brother was Raymond....he got a non-hippie name I guess! And I know a few people named Pheonix but only one of them is named that for real...the rest just go by that name.
Here's a picture of one that is half burned on my bookshelf...I don't have any new ones yet...I plan to customize it for the swap....and yes I can make them scented or unscented....we have a variety of scents to choose from!!!
mine on the pink panther t-shirt!!! My 10 year old daughter epitomizes that shirt!!!
My offer is 2 round candles, made by me, in any color you want. They are about 2.5 inches across and about 6 inches tall....about the size of a pringles can!
We have definitely predator proofed!!!! And I was planning on supervised visits from everything else I have read here.....I don't wanna traumatize poor Sofia any more than she already has been since she lost all her 'sisters'!!
Thanks for the advice everyone!! I'll go look for the other post...
Last week I lost 4 of my 5 hens to raccoons (I think).....since it's getting cold and a solo chicken is just sad I found some new babies locally yesterday...yay!! They are 3 week old easter eggers and there are 8 of them. How long should I keep them isolated to make sure I'm not introducing any...
I had 5 laying hens and was only getting one egg a day for weeks...turned out it was the raccoons getting the extra eggs and they left no sign until they started taking my chickens! Now I'm down to one and had to get a new batch of babies once I sealed up the coop better!!!
I saw a post or webpage before I had a fly problem where someone got larvae in the mail. It was a type of bug (maybe another kind of fly?) that lives off the larvae of big black flies and lives in the poop. They said it worked great and they hadn't had a fly problem in years.....I've been trying...
As long as they aren't eating any melted wax from inside the pumpkin just let them have it as is!!! They will love the treat! Mine got the guts the other day and will get the rest today probably!!!
this is a big help for me...I have some 3 week old EE's that I'm trying to sex so I can name them!!! One of my kids wants a roo named after him since he helped me work so hard to raccoon proof the coop!!!
my first batch of babies was 5 weeks old when I put them outside and it was summer.....and they all huddled up under a low shelf right inside the door to sleep for the first week or so and then they started roosting higher and higher as they grew....so yours might be like mine were....they just...
I'm in N FL too and have some 3 week old babies....they are ready to go out but they are new so they are quarantined from my laying hen for another week!!! BUT if that wasn't an issue they'd be headed out this week with a lamp!!!!
We got 6 chicks almost 5 weeks ago from mypetchicken.com. This is my first go with chickens and I have no idea about their reputation or history but they did right by me. We got what we ordered although they did call me the day before shipping and told me the 2 buff orpingtons I ordered didn't...
This is my first post....new to chickens...we have our first set of chicks ready to move into their outside coop, hopefully this weekend. They are 4 weeks old and we have 2 red stars, 2 gold laced wyandottes, and one easter egger....the other didn't make it past 3 weeks. I live in north Florida...
