    So, on another note, I have a silkie who decided to start setting three days ago. That is normal, but the cute/funny part is this...she is setting on Giant Jersey eggs. Within a few weeks of hatching I have a feeling the babies will be thise of mommy. lol

    Summer Heat

    I live in Kentucky and our summres can get rather warm. My chickens free-range in my backyard, so the coop is only used for roosting and laying. I know lots and lots of fresh water is a MUST, but I am wondering if there are any tricks, if you will, to help them beat the heat in this weather...
