    Incubators???? What do I get??

I'm thinking about getting a new incubator. I have the hovabator 1602 w/ the turner still air and after having it on for 2 wks to check the temps, humidity, etc, the temp varied from 97 to 104F. Our house is heated w/ wood and temps do vary from low 70's to upper 80's. I could keep the bator in...

    egg sac not absorbed

The chick didn't make it, the second chick seems to be absorbing it's sac. Another chick pipped halfway around and died.... I have never had this much trouble!!! Temps seemed stable, I dont know. I'll be patient and see how the rest do. No more pipping at this time.

Ok, What the heck? I've got some chicks hatching out now, as we speak, ~ 19/20 days in, temp has been steady at 99-100, dry hatch w/ humidity at maybe 30%. started lockdown 36 hours ago, increased humidity to ~ 70%, temps still steady ~ 100. baby chickens with baby turkeys

I had baby turkeys and baby chicks together till they were grown with no problems. Its an old wives tale about turkeys looking up in the rain and drowning... Kind of like kissing a toad under a full moon to get rid of warts.. Good luck with the turkey.

    Incubating NEWBIE~ Please help

Had you just washed the incubator? If you have not put the eggs in yet, open the lid and let it air out for a couple of hours. Mine did the same thing after I cleaned it and closed it up to set the temp.

    Incubating bantams and normal-size eggs

Thats awesome!! Congrats! In my experience, having the chicks bang the eggs sometimes encourages the others to pip... at least thats what I tell myself. Cant wait to see pics!

hi, I'm new to guineas and just put 24 in the incubator yesterday, anything special I need to know? Temp 99-100 in a still air. I've read it officially takes 28 days but everyone seems to think 26 is more the norm. So when should lockdown be? I was thinking about putting some chicken eggs in...
