HI!
Hatched some jap quail yesterday and today.
I've got a variety of colours, and I want to know what they'll grow up to look like. I think the yellow ones will be Texas A&Ms, but I have no clue about the rest.
Thanks!
^Texas A&Ms? The other yellow one we have has no brown dot on its head. Is...
Hi! Picked this up at a produce store the other day. Told it is an araucana. Not certain about the age. Would like to know any clues on sex. As we are in a suburban area, we can't keep roosters... Is it actually an araucana? Also, how old is it?
Thanks!!

I have a three day old jap quail who, as of this afternoon, only walks backwards with its head down, and to the left. What could be causing this? It is housed in a Styrofoam incubator with two other chicks.
I just unexpectedly hatched some jap quail (first time!)
Can someone explain why the birds need to be moved out of the incubator? Why can't I raise them in the incubator? Two have hatched and there are two more eggs. What are the main differences between an incubator and a brooder?
I have two khaki campbell ducks who live with six chickens. The ducks haven't been laying for at least a month now. One of them is looking a bit scruffy, but not like a full molt. The chickens are still laying. They have lots of outside space, a pond, and lots of shelter. I live in Brisbane...
I would accept that they are molting, but I live in Australia and we are in the middle of spring. The Isa browns are more skittish than usual and aren't eating very much. Will worm and mite them on the weekend.
I have 2 isa browns (Ginger and Three), 4 australorps and 2 khaki campbells in an outside run (rather large but fenced in). The two isa browns are at the bottom of the pecking order, and suffer because of it. The have both recently lots a lot of weight and condition, but I cannot identify the...
My friend wants little baby birds that grow up to be little birds. I suggested quails. Pros and Cons? She is out of house from around 8 till 3, 5 days a week.
I have 2 australorp chicks, bought as day olds pullets. One is now 180 grams, the other is 205. We suspect one was older, but they were the same size when we got them. Kip, the questionable roo/pullet, is more curious/the leader, with a more rounded tail. Nala is smaller, shyer, and follows Kip...
