I just did 4 today. I have a few more that I'm waiting to put on another pound or two. Plucking ain't' too bad if you do what pumpkin suggested. I let one soak a little too long today. The skin was starting to tear. about 30 seconds should to the trick.

I keep a red light on in their coop all night. Is that bad for them? I turn it off when I go feed in the morning and turn it back on before dark. It used to be for heat when they were March Chicks. But if it's not good for them to have the light at night I'll start keeping it off.

If I don't have the light on in the coop, mine won't come in and I have to pick them up and carry them to the coop. But if the light is on they are there by dark and all I have to do is lock 'em down

I've been talking to them since they were chicks. They perk up when they hear me. They also object when I come in the hen house or bring scratch. The last few days I've been going and just sitting in their pen with them. They come around close but if I move they bolt. I reckon it'll be easy...
