Ah, thank you so much for the reply. I felt terrible as I told her the beans are bad for the chickens and she started to cry thinking she had hurt them. :( Again, I appreciate the response, and will definitely use your "turn it into a positive" suggestion. :)
My little one just came in and informed me that she fed the chickens dried beans. I know that's a no no, but does it have to be a large quantity for it to effect them? We have 3 chickens and they probably only ate a couple beans each. I think they were beans from a green bean seed packet.
Thanks all! That's so funny. They sold it to us as a BO, and I thought for a while it was a rooster because it was so lanky and NOT fluffy. When we realized it was definitely a she, my mother was just referring to it as a runt. Also, she does not in any way fit the personality of a BO, hence I...

Nope. I have four chickens all different breeds. The Cochin is my big beast. Yes it's very unusual. They started to come in one day, and disappeared a few days later. Maybe she had a little hormonal surge? But I'm relieved given the fact that I thought she was going to be a he at one point.
I have a partridge cochin who is about 5-6 weeks old. I noticed earlier this week wattles developing, a little more prominently on the left side. I just looked at her this evening and they're gone! What's that all about? Any ideas?
