Gotta keep trying it may have been the eggs, handling, turning.temp or humidity. Just try again and take notes they may help. everyone gets a bad batch sometimes.
I am not sure if yours are the same but I feather sex my black australorps at 5-7 days. I have done several batches and been spot on. The wing feathers grow much faster and the tail feathers also. This has worked well for me. I hope it helps.
I had a chick hatch about 20 hours ago that has a crooked neck. He walks with his head down and to the left I feel bad but am hoping it will get better. i have fixed them with bad leggs but bad neck. Any ideas besides culling him out. Thanks for reading.
I have 13 so far. some others pipped. I have never had a hatch spread out this far, today is the due date and still have some trying. usually I am done by the due date. + I have one that has a crooked neck not sure what happened.
Thanks bobbie. I am hoping to put three turners in it (can do 2 for sure) I still need to install the reptipro, electrical outlets for turners, shelfs, and get the poly on and door seal.
Thanks for the pic stone that chick is beautiful. Congrats on all the chicks everyone can't wait to see the other pics. I am at 27 now, I think that is it. one died in the shell hatching and the other has done nothing.
I usually give them 10-12hours after pip then give them a hand. I also am quick with the door and mist the bator when I put them back in to get the humidity back up quick. I just lost a chick because I waited to long now I feel bad I should have gone with my instincts instead of text.
That is a cute chick. Good work. I have 23 so far lost one during hatching. I worked on another bator today also here are a couple pics. Not sure how the pic got above the text.
