Our order of 100 Freedom Rangers arrived Friday and all were/are in great health. We split the order with some friends so half of them are now gone. The only "issue" was that the Postal Service delivered the chicks to a different town than we live in. Luckily it is only 10 minutes away:lol...
Thanks for posting this info, it is greatly appreciated! I can't imagine raising 150 at a time! Got any pics?

Lightly steamed zuch, raw sliced kohlrabi and turnip, rice, and homemade rhubarb strawberry crisp.
Only thing that didn't grow in the backyard was the rice.
............9 week old Colored Range Broiler, dressed weight 3 lb 12 oz. Cooked day after butchering. Absolutely incredibly wonderful eating bird. Tender but with texture, not mushy. Can't wait til the rest go to freezer camp at 12 weeks.
Thanks for the comments. This is my first time raising a true meat bird so can't answer the details. I am expecting a 3+ lb dressed bird at 12 weeks and don't think I'll be disappointed.
Of the 3 tri color's I received, 2 are pullets. They both look plump and tasty though;)
These birds love...
Thought I'd share some pictures of our JM Hatchery rangers...born 6/3/09. We received 36 and have 35 in the pen. One dislocated a hip at 3 weeks and became a snack!
Very healthy and active birds, if not the brightest;) Looking forward to taking them in at 12 weeks, although I am sure to bonk...
The processor I use loans out cages.

"Practical" flatwork....where "square" and "straight" are not required!!!!
I didn't know you were in to chickens, but guess you needed something to go with all that pork!
Thanks folks. "Free" is one of my favorite prices:)
Another nice thing about this feeder is the wide top makes it easy to pour food in, even with gloves/mittens on. My wife and daughter appreciate that!
Thanks folks, it is a fun task, that is for sure!

I would, but am far from "expert". Also, I have the room and access to "free" materials........ You should post this question in its own thread to get some responses!
I like to scrounge......this feeder ws built out of salvaged "trash", including the hinges. I did break down and buy the screws and glue.....no plans, just cut as I went....... The chickens seem to like it too!
