First time since they started laying in June ZERO eggs this morning Weather is getting colder so maybe that is it. Only 4 yesterday and we usually get an average of 8 out of 10.
I was shocked when I went through my calendar where I track daily the number of eggs that we get. Our 10 hens started laying on 6-14-09 and to date we have gotten 623 eggs! Now if we had been able to sell all the eggs at $3.00 per dozen we would have made about $156.00 - a small contribution...

I think our hens took the Labor Day holiday to heart. We only got 3 eggs and have been averaging 8 per day. Hopefully, they will pick up again I have a lot of baking to do.

up to 8 out of 10. Both Single Comb Leghorns laid today - 1st time to get two white eggs in same day. Now if we could get two green it would be perfect.

We are now getting 6 out of 10. Some were slower to get started. Red Stars (2 of them) have been laying since 15.3 weeks. Brown Leghorns and Light Brahmas just started at 20+ weeks. Can't wait until everybody is laying and ATTEMPTING to earn their keep.
