Congrats! I have had several bator problems and it is amazing how resilient chicks can be. I have had hatches every week for about the last 2 months! Looks like a colorful bunch!

As for putting them in the coop. When they are feathered out in my experience they are good to be out in the coop. If you go with the 95 degrees when hatched and lower the temp by 5 every week, well you get the idea. If they are not staying huddled under the current light in the brooder you...

Sorry to hear about the one. I hate losing any birds, butit does happen. Have you tried adding electrolyte to the water for the one slow one. It may just need a little extra pep in his step! Glad to hear the others aredoing really well.

Well my first big hatch is underway a full day early here in Troy Ohio. Just had the first of many make it out. Always exciting watching these little chicks pop out all at once! My new cooler hatcher is doing a great job so far and I can't wait to wake to little peeps in the morning.

Well we have had 2 test hatches for fertility and now our 1st big hatch is set for easter weekend. I now have 2 cooler bators, one I just built Monday to use as a hatcher so I don't have to wait 3 weeks between hatches . I have also resorted to stacking eggs in the bator to squeeze more in. So...

We put broody chickens in a separate little dog cage. They just need to lay 1 egg or go 2 days, which ever happens first, then let them back out. Works every time for us.
