I've also been told that Guienea hens and pea fowl keep snakes away. I do know that Buckeyes ( the chicken not the nut) are great mousers ;)

You could always call the "Turtle Man" lol!!! To keep snakes away from my coop I make sure the grass all around is mowed short, tougher to hide that way.
