You know this makes me think, I’m not sure I’ve actually seen a well bred leghorn. All I’ve seen is hatchery stock and I’m not sure if I’d be able to visually see a difference like I have with barred rocks

That leghorn doesn’t look like a good example of Colombian either. I’m not a fan of the color as is but I’ve never actually seen a poor example of it until now.
Thanks for the info! I think a project I’d love to tackle one day is breeding rare colors to be productive layers. Not as productive as a hatchery white, but still respectable
Ok, I haven’t read the whole thread because it’s long and my brain is fried. I do have a few questions tho. Are all varieties of leghorn flighty? Are some colors or strains calmer? Do they all lay as much as my hatchery girl?
I used to think they were a sorta plain bird, but I got a leghorn...
