Just thought I'd update.
As of this morning she is completely back to normal. Very active, social, and eating and drinking with the others! I have not heard or seen Mr. Owl return and hopefully he finds somewhere else to hunt... plenty of squirrels around here, could probably feed the entire...
I have not directly seen her eat today. But she's still drinking and foraging on the ground. She doesn't look weak. She's still hiding a lot in the tall grass and occasionally comes out to play in the pool but she definitely prefers the cover.
I didn't see any new light green poo splatterings...
I put them in early tonight. She went into the pool once but did nothing but stand in it, constantly looking around. She then went and hid back in the bushes. She was definitely most comfortable under some kind of cover, hiding from things from above. She drank some more. I didn't see her eat...
Good news. She finally came out and was pacing the fence trying to get in. I decided to let her in. No problems with the other ducks. If they even noticed she was gone they didn't show it. She followed them to the water bucket and drank. Then she went and stood in the bushes, just standing...
I cannot get this little brat to come out from under the trailer. I tried to reach out to her and she stood up quacking and waddled further in. The water looks just dirty enough that she might have come out to drink a little while no one was looking. She was waddling just fine and from my...
I've put food and water down so hopefully she'll come out eventually. She's moved around a bit under the trailer, lying in different spots. The other ducks are healthy and acting normal still. I have to dump and clean out the tote since it's completely drenched.
It appeared that she attempted to bathe in the water bowl at some point this morning. Everything was soaked! Only a small amount of food was touched. A lot of the wood shavings are stained green from poop. My dad had let her out and said she was walking normally, but she's hiding under the...
She's in the garage for the night. Hopefully she'll be completely back to herself by morning!
We're picking up some cracked corn tomorrow. Will add meal worms to the list.
She got up and pooped! I want to take a picture of it but she won't move her butt. It looked a little watery, with chunks of green. Plant green, not bright or dark green. No sign of blood in the poop, and no yellow. I'm attempting to find a picture somewhere that looks similar.
And, for the...
Yes. I also noticed a strange 'line' along the side of the white on her neck. Nothing piercing the skin. Maybe some squeezing on her chest, which caused some neck pain. She is looking much better than she looked when I found her. She was just standing there shaking, barely aware I was there and...
I am planning on picking up some activated charcoal a little later.
She's finally stopped standing in one spot and has lied down. She quacked quietly when I approached and looked at me. She heard the other ducks quacking in the background and kept trying to look in that direction.
Still no...
It's always possible she could have ingested something bad. I was assuming a predator due to the ducks quacking and the fearful way the chickens were acting, but we had a rainstorm recently with a lot of runoff that goes directly across our yard.
I have a bag of charcoal 'bricks' but not...
Unfortunately no, no vets in the area who will look at 'exotics'. (well, there's one, but I don't have 300 dollars to fork over for the exotics fee) :(
I'll add some electrolytes to her water and then leave her be for awhile.
No sign from Mr. Owl, and the other ducks are looking fine...
I apologize for the blurriness. My phone does not take good videos, but you can at least see her head movements/positioning. I haven't managed to catch a video of her doing the weird twisting, although I haven't seen her do it since putting her in the tote. It seems to be the result of stress...
She's 4 years old, pekin-cayuga cross (same group that hatched as my drake Opie from the limping thread). I'm hoping she isn't sick.
She's currently standing in the tote, just looking back and forth, not really moving. Uninterested in the water. She moves away when I touch her but I can gently...
I have managed to find a tote to put her in... I'm starting to wonder if she is having neurological problems... could it be a result of neck injury or am I wrong about a predator attack altogether?
I went out and she had waddled to another bush, and was currently standing there, looking in all...
I am attempting to locate the crate.
She's standing, alert, hissing at me, and puffing up her tail when I approach (normal behavior from my ducks, they're not friendly) - but she's still shaking.
Need a little help here. I was outside when I heard loud quacking and went running. I could see four ducks but not the fifth until I found her lying in the bushes, not moving. I walked right up to her and she kept closing her eyes and I knew something was wrong. There was a mark on her...
