I don’t use dog nail clippers.
I have a designated pair of regular people toenail clippers that I use for my chickens.
I always wrap them up snug in a towel first with just their head and feet sticking out, and hold them in my lap usually outside on a sunny day. I find the natural light helps...
Looks like the dog’s eye has been taken cared for by a vet. See the button method?
It’s a white button. A little hard to see. They sew the eyelid partially shut with a button while you use terramycin for a week or so to heal the corneal wound. It keeps the dog from rubbing the sore eye til it’s...
I’m wondering if you could train her to find a rabbit cage bottle by tapping on it and always put it in the exact same place......
It would definitely take patience but it would be an interesting experiment.
I’ve invited someone to join this thread.
@hector92 has suffered a similar tragedy this afternoon. His bird was attacked by a fox and the injury is in the same location!
I’m inviting him to come read and maybe participate here so save the rest of us from typing out all the same instructions...
I totally agree with @Eggcessive , almost every antibiotic can be given orally. And yes, even some that are labeled as injectables.
Let’s get past this issue for a moment and get an update on the little hen.
How is she feeling?
Did she eat this afternoon?

Hey :frow@webbysmeme, you are really doing a great job and staying on top of all this.
Keep up the good work. :hugs
Crying.
It may not be crying as much as vocalizing “what the heck is going on with me?!”
As Kiki stated she’s eating and drinking.
Let’s give that pain med and see if it helps.
Sorry I was taking care of something but I’m back.
Yes to that line you have marked on the syringe.
And tell your vet that it is a very deep traumatic injury but she’s eating and drinking.
Ask her for an antibiotic that is broad spectrum and good for soft tissue infection.
(She’s going to...
Also meant to add if you have a personal relationship with your vet, (God bless her) maybe you could call and get a callback from her today to discuss this.
They need it warm. The heater is fine but if she’s all dry from last nights bath aim it near them but not at them.
I’m very familiar with that type of wound dressing. It’s very effective, but I’m not 100% certain it’s indicated here.
@casportpony, what do you think about this?
Offer...
:frowHi there. Good morning!
May I say that you did an incredible job of cleaning that wound?!?:highfive:
Friend, I’m not going to lie.
This is a very traumatic injury to an extensive amount of soft tissue, covering a large portion of her back end.
Without putting my fingers inside the...
