I ended up with 15 chicks from my first batch. Batch 2 is starting day 21 this afternoon (2 Birchen Marans eggs, and 9 Cream Legbars).

Four more pips, an EE, another Ameraucana, a frizzle OE, and a side-pipped Sebrights/Mille Fleur mix. I thought yesterday's second pip, Ameraucana, was starting to zip. But now I think the chick pecked at it.
I want to pull the chick and clean it up, but will have to patiently wait until another...
No, it doesn't. I squealed like a little girl when I heard the first peep, lol. My last hatch was 2019 EHAL, so it was time!

I candled my first batch this evening. Day 6 and 1/4.
I started with 36.
1 blood ring pulled D4
5 clears (4 are very dark eggs, though)
10 with veins
20 beans
The weights indicate an average weight loss of 4.2%. No tweaking needed, yay!
