I have a big straight stitch machine so no zigzags unless I dig out my little multi-stitch travel machine. (I'm spoiled and love my big Juki)
Though I had read about dabbing the ends with super glue, I keep forgetting to do that. How are your ends holding up in the zigzag?
I'm not sure leaving the end open was a purposeful thing, depending on who made it.
Some of the patterns out there don't have the maker stitching ends on the sleeve because the pattern is more for people making masks assembly line style.
I stitch mine in so they don't come out in the washing...
I've started making the same mask.
Super easy to make, no seams down the front, plenty of room to talk without it rubbing your face, and a good tight fit. And like you... I sew in a pipe cleaner across the top for a molded fit, though I catch mine after I turn the mask right side out and am...
Premier 1.
I started my search on Amazon to read the reviews, but the same fencing was on sale through the premier 1 site so I bought straight from them.
I ended up with the sheep/goat fence because my priority was keeping stuff out of the garden, not keeping chickens in. Though I did/do plan...
Gophers as in the smaller critters? Or gophers as some people call the larger groundhogs?
I got the basic square netting, not the smaller poultry netting, and it kept regular groundhogs out very well. In previous years they would wipe out most of what I planted. I do not have the smaller gophers...
In terms of connecting one whole fence section to another (as in bought sections, not resected cuts) each fencing "bundle" comes with an extended connector wire that sticks out. It has special clips. Those clips can connect to your charger connections, or...as the directions
say- when connecting...
Oh, and mine was hooked to my regular electric fence with coated wire, which is charged with a solar charger.
I used this (below) because I needed a way to unhook it when I wanted to open a section to go in the garden area-
Coated 12 gauge wire...
Think of the entire net as just one strand of electric fence in terms of getting and running electric to it and through it.
In terms of on it's own, think of that single line as a giant hot net. Literally. Same properties, just all interconnected and spread over more area.
Oh No!!

Sorry to hear that! Like the others I'm sending hope and encouragement! So many people, even high risk ones, just get the cruddies (for lack of better term) and get to ride it out ok at home.
You too! I'm glad things are starting to get better for...
Depends on the clay!
I'm on super dense red Georgia clay...the kind that suffocates plants. With enough amendments to loosen and open it up plus provide drainage has made for happy roses...but without some work about the only thing that thrives in it is saguaro cactus, um...I mean tall thistle...
Ah, gotta use potting soil for these.
Some things you can get away with digging in the ground if you have decent stuff, but some things, like ginger, roses, and delicate plants need potting soil.
I mean never, have I ever, just grabbed dirt from the ground and tossed it in a pot and wondered...
What kind of soil?
They like the soil to remain nice and moist...like when you are trying to get veggie sees to sprout. In the pic of the plants on the porch...I'd water mine weekly to the point that there was maybe an inch of extra water in the drain saucer under the pots. Sometimes I would...
Oh, sorry.
...I thought the smog is much better than it was back then??
I added notes to the above pictures because I remembered to take notes for you. :D
You know I call my horse goober...... it's a term of endearment.
Usually.
In this pot, the planted section is the flatter part below the tape measure. The growth goes deeper than it appears because I didn't want to dig any deeper, and I could not pull, wiggle, or tug any of it out of the soil.
This section was probably the biggest of all the 4 sections, and when I...
I'll have to double check on the temps. But all I did was google growing ginger in pots and found a few pages I looked at. Plus one of my gardening books has minuscule info on growing culinary ginger. I'll recheck it too.
And if I remember correctly, I planted about 2 inches deep. I'll double...
Like other rhizomes, ginger likes to spread out. They don't need especially deep pots, but rather decently wide. I started with 10 or 12" pots that are about 6 or 8" deep.
Maybe a wide-ish 2 gallon pot??
I cut my ginger into 4 sections and each cut of ginger fit within the bowl of the palm of...
Ginger- treat it as a rhizome...more like irises, not like a bulb such as garlic.
The glob of ginger is called hands. Think a fat base like your palm (but smaller) with fatter short fingers.
1. buy FRESH organic ginger. The skin should be smooth with a slight green tinge (if possible) and no...
I did get some...
NO! No heavy sunshine... Bright bright shade or very dappled/filtered sun!!
You need to!
Details coming...
Goober! And after that book I wrote you??
🤨 **hand on hip**
Ok, bear with me...I'll pull the info and pics...
