No but since I did solid colored rooster over cuckoo marans hen it was sex linked. The female was black, male was cuckoo.
A barred bird will create barred offspring but a cuckoo bird wouldn’t.
I bred my ameraucana with a cuckoo maran hen so the male was sex linked.
I’ll get 50% cuckoo babies from him and I’ll just cull the ones who aren’t cuckoo. Dominique sounds like a good cross but not a good comb type.
Right now I need to work on comb, leg color and egg color. I also need to work...
Well the cuckoo ameraucana project is going well. I bred the cuckoo marans x ameraucana male over my black ameraucana. The eggs are in the incubator right now.
Well right now I’m skipping that project. Though I did take that into consideration and I did want the pea comb. I’m going to try to make cuckoo ameraucanas.
Terrible but once I breed him they should be better. The camera makes them pink but they really are not that pink. They are grey with some blue spots. His comb isn’t too ugly.
Well I’m getting a profit on just ameraucana mixes and hopefully I’ll start selling ameraucanas too. Plus I have doctors appointments at least 3 days a week, plus school so I’m too busy. I may start a project after spring.
I decided to quit the project. Right now I’m getting good profit out of sex linked ameraucana pullets (black ameraucana over maran). I’ve gotten $50 for 2, 3 month olds and a 2 week old.
Not sure if this is my ameraucana x glw baby or not. It has what looks like a rose comb, not a pea comb. It also came out of a egg that looks like hers. It’s either hers or a olive egger (legbar mix) with the black ameraucana roo. But I think it’s GLW because of comb.
Not laying yet :barnie But I did make a quick drawing of what I want the rooster to look like. I really hope she lays soon because I can’t wait to get started on this project. Sorry the pic looks really bad, I just didn’t feel like spending a lot of time on it.
