    Rescue Chicken

Found a home for him, brought him over yesterday evening!!! Although I’m pretty sure I got rid of the lice while I had him. I searched for about 15 minutes and found nothing. I’d treated him with Flys-X three consecutive days, and on the last day I gave him a bath, and a ton of lice were removed...

The bath would be to wash off the dead bugs. He’s not quite understanding the dust bath.

    Rescue Chicken

It's been a few days and nobody's claimed him. I've heard that some kinds of soap is a natural insect repellent- reason for bath. I may keep him. Unsure right now. Won't introduce him until I'm sure.

Okay I got the spray- The Fly-X one- and used it. He's itching less, and I'm going to give him a bath in a few hours, and spray again overnight, bathe him in the morning, repeat. Good plan? He's settling in a little more, getting more vocal :) Named him Martini, Tini for short lol because I...

I thought the extra space was worth the price vs a cardboard box or something. Plus there’s storage, and a zip up top

    Rescue Chicken

I’m in Louisiana, if anyone can take him!!!! He’s a rooster for sure, didn’t crow this morning, though, and is very sweet and docile. The size of my hand, I think a bantam Araucana. If anyone is interested, no rehoming fees at all, just pm me. I’m willing to drive him depending on the day to...

    Rescue Chicken

I’ve determined he has lice and maybe mites. Treatment thoughts? Very sweet little guy. I let him out of his temporary coop and he immediately tried to hop on my lap and snuggle.

Good idea! I used some canned corn to catch him and he was loving it! Might try that :)

    Rescue Chicken

Is there anyway to check in the daytime? He's very spooked at the moment. :(

    Rescue Chicken

I'm not sure how to check for mites and lice. Pullets are 20 weeks old, none laying yet, but one about to: swollen comb, very red, squatting

    Rescue Chicken

If it turns out to be no big deal, should I introduce him to my pullets tomorrow? Or wait a while?
