    On of the chicks survived the incident and hatched yesterday. Still unsure on the remaining 3 eggs, we’re giving them a few more days in the incubator. Nelly has two babies now.

    it’s still the only one to hatch so far, but look at it! the black spot on it just kills me. it’s so cute. it also has a little black around its face. still no idea who the dad is. the chick hatched from an ISA brown egg

    tomorrow will be day 15 for some of the eggs and im really nervous. my cousin said that’s usually when chicks die in the egg for reasons ( genetic? ). is he right?

    i candled them today and all the embryos are alive and i was able to get videos of them moving

    One of my pullets went broody for the first time ( she’s 32 weeks old ) and I put 5 eggs under her on the 1st. We had one go missing & another cracked ( one of the other hens must’ve been harassing her ), so I had to put her in the brooder and put two more eggs under her to replace the other...
